The 5th Asia Summit on Global Health, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), commenced in Hong Kong on May 26. Under the theme "Partnering for a Resilient Future", the forum convened global stakeholders to address critical healthcare challenges—including chronic disease management and aging population solutions—gathering over 2,800 experts and industry leaders from approximately 40 countries and regions in a hybrid format to explore emerging opportunities in medical technology.

In his opening address, Mr. John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, highlighted Hong Kong's unique academic strengths: "As Asia's only city with five universities ranked among the global top 100, Hong Kong boasts two medical schools within the world's top 40 and hosts eight State Key Laboratories in life and health sciences. These advantages create fertile ground for world-class research and medical technology innovation."

Mr. John Lee further announced the operational launch of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Centre at the Hong Kong Science Park, with over 70 clinical trial projects scheduled for initiation in 2025. Additionally, Hong Kong is collaborating with Shenzhen to establish a Real-World Evidence Research and Application Centre before year-end, facilitating cross-border health data sharing to expedite new drug registration and approval processes.

Mr. John Lee Ka-chiu underscored that "just as human health depends on the harmonious functioning of all bodily systems, global economic prosperity can only thrive within an ecosystem built on trust, collaboration, and multilateralism." He affirmed Hong Kong's commitment to forging meaningful partnerships with global stakeholders to pursue innovative cooperation.

Academician Cao Xuetao, Vice Minister of the National Health Commission, stated: "Over the past year, China has implemented a health-centered development strategy, comprehensively advanced the Healthy China initiative, deepened engagement in global health governance, and consistently contributed China's wisdom to fostering a Global Health Community for All."

Academician Cao Xuetao emphasized that "Hong Kong leverages its unique geographical advantages, world-class infrastructure, cutting-edge research capabilities, and globally oriented business environment to play a pivotal role in the healthcare sector. The accelerated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is propelling unprecedented growth momentum across Hong Kong and Asia's medical and health industries, creating expansive new frontiers for advancement."

Looking ahead to Hong Kong's healthcare industry development, Academician Cao Xuetao proposed three key recommendations: First, maintain steadfast confidence in development while actively participating in the Healthy China initiative. Second, enhance scientific innovation to jointly propel the transformation of the health industry. Third, strengthen international collaboration to collectively address global health challenges.

The two-day Forum served as a flagship event of the fourth International Healthcare Week, running concurrently with another key initiative—the three-day 16th HKTDC Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair. The Fair attracted approximately 300 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, presenting cutting-edge medical devices, products, and applications across three core domains.Concurrently, seven Hong Kong universities joined forces with over 50 Hong Kong tech ventures and medical enterprises to demonstrate the region's innovation capabilities, collectively showcasing locally developed breakthroughs.

Organized by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Shanghai Biomedical Technology Industrial Promotion Center, Nosaier Medical Technology Co., Ltd. joined 18 other Shanghai enterprises as part of the Shanghai Delegation for the collaborative exhibition. At the event, Nosaier Medical made a remarkable debut with its latest product "Nosaier® PCa" – a high-frequency pulsed field ablation device for prostate tissue. This breakthrough innovation captured significant attention from global exhibitors and attendees, who flocked to the booth to explore Nosaier's proprietary technologies and product portfolio.
